Welcome back to part 5 of our 7 part “Praying Prayers That Get Answered” video series. Maybe you’ve been following along this series and you’ve been applying all the right principles and yet it would still appear that your prayers are not being answered, but is that really what’s happening? Today we’re talking about what to do when it seems like your prayers remain unanswered.
What’s really happening
It’s easy to start believing lies about God’s promise to answer our prayers when it seems like our circumstances don’t coincide with what the Bible says. When we try the word and don’t see the promised results it leaves us feeling very confused. However, the problem does not lie with God failing to answer our prayers, but with us failing to receive. I know that almost sounds like a cop-out or an excuse, but let’s dig a little deeper to find out what’s really going on when our prayers seem unanswered.
If you pray a prayer that is in line with God’s word He moves immediately to give us the answer in the spirit realm. We are responsible for having the faith to believe that and to act accordingly to bring that answer to fruition in the physical realm. God provides the answer in the spirit realm, and then through faith we give physical substance to what God has done (Hebrews 11:1). We are not the ones who produced the answer by our own power. God is the one who works the miracles. However, the Bible makes it clear that we have been made joint heirs together with Christ. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” While we can do nothing apart from Him we do have a part to play in receiving from Him. Ignorance of this fact has led to confusion for many.
Spiritual transformers
I’ve heard it explained like this. We are like a spiritual transformer. Spiritual power has to be converted into physical power just as radio signals have to be converted into frequencies audible to our physical ear. You can’t hear the actual signal broadcast by a radio station until it has been picked up by a receiver and translated into an audible sound, but just because you can’t hear a radio signal doesn’t mean that there are none. They are there, but they are on a higher frequency than the human ear can hear. They have to be “demodulated” into a lower frequency audible to our ears. This is how God works. He provides an answer in the spirit realm and through our faith we convert it into the physical realm.
This helps explain what the Bible means in Mark 11:24 when it says, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” The answer is there the whole time, but we have to convert it into the physical realm before our physical eyes can perceive it. If the answer to your prayer is not immediately evident in the natural realm you cannot waiver in your belief that God has already answered your prayer!
What’s the hold up?
There are many things that can affect the time that it takes for God’s answer to manifest in the physical realm, but God is not the unpredictable factor! The Bible is clear that we must believe we received at the moment we prayed, and God isn’t asking you to believe a lie. You did receive the answer in the spiritual realm the moment you prayed, now it just has to be converted into the physical realm.
So if God is not the unpredictable factor then what is? Let’s look at a story from Daniel Chapter 10. In this story Daniel had prayed a prayer that it appeared to have taken God three weeks to answer. However, we find in verse 12 that God had taken immediate action on Daniel’s prayer the very moment that Daniel prayed it by sending an angel. God was not the varying factor. In this case, it was a demonic force, “the prince of the kingdom of Persia,” that had hindered the answer to Daniel’s prayer.
Remain persistent in your belief!
Prayers can be hindered by Satan, people’s free will, unbelief or many other things, but you must never forget that it is not God who is delaying the answer to your prayer. That is why it is important that you remain persistent in your belief and trust in God to answer your prayers. Some times the greatest trial comes just before the answer arrives, and it can seem darkest just before the dawn. Thankfully, even in those moments we can stand assured that our prayer has already been answered and is on the way. This is a fundamental truth that must be established if we are to see answers to our prayers. By believing that we position ourselves in just the right place to release our faith and bring our answer into complete manifestation.
